Totnes Community Development Society (TCDS) is inviting appropriately experienced and qualified contractors to tender for the Atmos Totnes Brunel Building refurbishment & extensions with new build Energy Centre.
This afternoon two portaloos that were in place ready for the Golden Iris Easter Monday fun day were deliberately set alight. In turn, the toilets set fire to the Elmhirst building which caused damage internally and externally including to the roof and electrics. We are really sorry not to be enjoying young musical talents tomorrow at Elmhirst as a result, and the opening of the building will have to be postponed.
Part of the programme in preparation for commencement of development includes putting in place the strategy for protecting various species of wildlife currently on the site. Between now until the middle of May our ecologists will be undertaking some of the earliest stages of this work in green spaces across the site. This period will be focused on relocating reptiles from the Atmos Totnes site to another location in Totnes prior to demolition and construction on site. This will involve clearing of foliage so that the animals can be spotted and appropriately collected by our trained ecologists….
A form has been put together to enable collaboration through the Elmhirst Building; to establish where there are other activities within the community, already underway or planned, that can support the Golden Iris team in opening up the building for the benefit of young people and other vulnerable individuals in the community, and make best use of the space in line with the vision of the Golden Iris team.
The Golden Iris team are pleased to invite you to a Bank Holiday Monday of fun (11am – 3pm) at the Elmhirst Centre, opposite KEVICC. All are welcome.
