The Directors of Totnes Community Development Society seeking to recruit two Facilities Support Workers to support the maintenance of community buildings in Totnes.
The Dart Valley Learning Trust at KEVICC has served notice to Totnes Community Development Society requiring the Society vacate the Elmhirst Building by the 15th March. We have been told that the Site Development Committee at KEVICC has considered Totnes Community Development Society’s request for extension of the licence for the Elmhirst Building which is due to expire this month, but that they have made the decision not to allow an extension.
Totnes Community Development Society Directors would like to update the community on the situation regarding the purchase of the land from Saputo UK (formerly Dairy Crest). The Society has been informed that another organisation, FastGlobe (Mastics) Ltd, may be seeking to buy the former Dairy Crest site. At this stage the Society understand that the land has not been sold and that Fastglobe (Mastics) Ltd have taken a lease from Saputo UK for the land and that the Society no longer have access to the site. The Society is unaware of the intentions of Fastglobe (Mastics) Ltd and is seeking confirmation.
Totnes Community Development Society has been awarded a £2,576,400 grant from The National Lottery Heritage Fund to restore the Brunel Building. New facilities will also be added to make it a vibrant space for community enterprise, events and local services. The renovation has been designed by the community of Totnes as part of the Atmos Totnes process, and the extensive redevelopment of the old 8-acre Dairy Crest site.
